NEW RECORDS COMING!!
So the reason we’ve been neglecting this webpage, is that we’ve
been busy beating the hell out of each other in the studio. We just finished
10 tracks for our upcoming yet untitled record, to be released on Screaming
Apple Records out of Germany. We’re still harassing Canadian labels to
drop some money on a Canadian release, but it seems us Canadians have no taste. We’re
going in to the studio to cut another 5 tracks this January (funds permitting)
with the same talent that cut our 7” release of last summer, Nathan at
Wellesley Sound. Two of these will appear on a 45 rpm released by a yet
un-named Greek label. What is it with Europeans, and their good taste?!

Crickey! We’ve been up to our armpits burning the midnight oil
at both ends and now our metaphors are all mixed up to shite. So what’s
to show for it? We’re cooking up some new songs for our next release,
which may come out on a European label whose name we can’t mention just
yet.
We did a weekend in Kingston and (ever luvvin’) Montreal with our amigos
of lucha libre, the Tijuana Bibles.
This summer will see more shows planned in our home turf, in and around Terronna.
Stay tuned!

Just when vinyl seems to have gone the way of the mimeograph machine, here
come the Midways and the Glads with a split 7-incher recorded just under the
melting point of wax, and a record-release party at the Rivoli to boot!
Seeing how both bands have been knee-deep in the trash-rock vaults for the past
few years, it figures that neither of them balked at committing financial hara-kiri
by issuing their maladroit music on 7" vinyl. And since they’re
determined to go the full nine yards in the wrong direction, they even ‘effed
up the speed, cutting the disc at 33-1/3 RPM so they could cram two tracks each
on this platter. Come on, fellas! How chintzy can you get?
The Midways follow up on their full-length CD, Pay More And Get A Good Seat,
with two of their most scorching-hot recordings yet: the furious punker "Get
Out Now" and the driving pop of "Shake It Up."
The Glads tear up the flipside with "My Baby’s Got It" and "Do
The Go To Hell," a song guaranteed to be the biggest dance craze since
hipsters learned The Stand! These are the latest recordings from the Ottawa
foursome since their blistering CD debut, A Bad Case of the Glads.
The disc is a joint release by the Glads’ Ottawa label, Music For Cats,
and the mysteriously untraceable Panty Raid Records, a vinyl-only imprint rumored
to be run out of the basement of a frat house.
Both bands will crash the Rivoli stage for a release party on Friday January
7th 2005, with special guests, experimental lo-fi pop wizards The Pauls.
Press welcome, as always.

It's been a slow Summer. Dave went to Switzerland to check
in on his foster child ranch, and was happy to see the herd grow to over a hundred
heads. Pete taught Rock Camp for underprivileged Kosovo kids whose amplifiers
were destroyed by midplaced US ordinance. Johnny flew to Vegas for a Vienna
Boy's Choir 20th-anniversary reunion, and Chris went to market, stayed home,
ate roast beef, had none, then went "wee wee wee!" all the way home.
The only place we've been active is on college and indie radio, where the CD
is yo-yoing up and down the charts. But soon we'll be playing a wedding, a funeral,
and two bar-mitzvas, then hitting the stage again in fine wheelchair-accessible
nightclubs near you.
NEW RECORDING!
Soon to come, our first wax 7”split with savage Ottawa snarlers THE GLADS,
our partners in slime. Coming soon to a bargain bin near you.
